There’s a photo on my desk of a boy around 4 years old, and he’s got small tree branches tucked into his green t-shirt. His arms, raised just above his shoulders, end with tiny hands gnarled into grasping claws, and the scary look on his face lets you know this is no ordinary boy…this is a tree monster.
Looking at this picture, it’s hard to believe it was taken some 12 years ago. It’s even harder to believe that little tree monster, Tyler, turns 16 today.
